Iceland is a nature lover's paradise. It was fascinating! Truly, one of the best 10 hours stop I've made!
Developed in the 8th Century B.C., Delphi was an ancient religious sanctuary dedicated to the Greek god Apollo. It was home to the Oracle of Delphi and the priestess Pythia, who was famed throughout the ancient world for divining the future and was consulted before all major undertakings.
Castell de Santa Barbara is one of the largest fortresses in Spain. Built in the 9th Century by the Moors. It sits on top of Mount Benacantil overlooking the city of Alicante. It got the name Santa Barbara, when it was captured by the Castillian forces on St Barbara's feast day on Dec 4, 1248.
Birkenau is located approximately 2 miles from Auschwitz I and is connected by rail. It served to ease the overcrowding at the Auschwitz I camp. Birkenau is the main venue for the Nazi's "Final Solution", the extermination of the Jews.
